We have a real challenge on our hands because suicide prevention is everybody’s business; However, it can be really hard to get suicide prevention skills out across communities; and harder still to enable those communities to pass the skills on. Since May, and with support from Public Health, we have been hard at work developing and rolling out a training package that supports communities to learn the skills to train others in suicide prevention.
This fantastic journey of training and developing community leaders in suicide prevention skills has seen tailored workshops rolled out across the Housing Sector, the Hotel industry, educational establishments, within faith communities and across criminal justice support services to name but a few.
